Meet Our Team

Nancy Nicklow has dedicated her life to the insurance industry and to the community of Pasadena, Maryland. Her journey with Huff Insurance began in 1985 when she started helping her father, Ray Huff—the agency’s founder—during her summer breaks from high school. From filing paperwork to handling claims and working with both personal and commercial lines, there isn’t a role in the agency that Nancy hasn’t done. She officially joined the team full-time in June of 1994 after earning her business administration degree (cum laude) from Salisbury University, with a minor in psychology.

Over the years, Nancy has continued her professional growth by earning several prestigious designations, including Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), Accredited Advisor in Insurance (AAI), and Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist (CRIS). Her leadership and dedication were recognized in 2014 when she was named the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Maryland Insurance Advocate of the Year.

Nancy’s industry involvement goes well beyond Huff Insurance. She served as president of the Independent Insurance Agents of Maryland in 2002-2003 and currently represents Maryland as the National Director on the Big I national board. She also chairs the Big I Invest Committee, which promotes financial literacy for high school and college students.

A lifelong resident of Pasadena, Nancy Nicklow is an active member of Harundale Presbyterian Church in Glen Burnie. She is a proud mom to Allie and Dalton. Sports are a big part of family life—Allie was involved with gymnastics as a kid, stage crew in high school and the on the club Quiddich team at Salisbury University.  Dalton has played for numerous local teams including the Bucs, Lake Shore programs, and Chesapeake High School, ultimately finished his baseball career at Saint Vincent College, where he consistently ranked among the team’s top hitters.

When she’s not working or cheering from the sidelines, Nancy enjoys spending time with family and friends, especially relaxing on the beach. Her commitment to her clients, her team, and her community is the heart of Huff Insurance.

Jerry Nicklow has been in the insurance industry since 1995 and brings nearly three decades of experience to Huff Insurance. A summa cum laude graduate of Salisbury University, Jerry combines deep insurance knowledge with a long-standing focus on education and clear communication.

Since 2008, he has specialized in insurance marketing and blog writing, helping turn complex insurance topics into practical, easy-to-understand information. Jerry holds the API, AAI, and AIS insurance designations and regularly attends industry conferences to stay current on trends and coverage changes. He has also been invited to speak with other insurance professionals and appear on industry podcasts to share insights on insurance marketing and communication.

Hayley Conley Has been with us since June of 2022. She started as our Director of First Impressions and has moved up to be our Commercial Lines Assistant Account Manager.  Hayley also handles the billing with the insurance companies. She enjoys her role in the company because it keeps her mind sharp and creates new challenges for her daily, Problem solving is a thrill for her. When Hayley is not in the office, she likes to be around her friends that inspire her. She watches a few different types of sports such as Football, Hockey, and Baseball. Her favorite thing though is when she gets home, she has her great dog Bruce who greets her.

Dalton Nicklow is a third-generation employee who started part time in 2014 and full time in June of 2025 after graduating college. Dalton’s grandfather, Ray Huff,  started the agency back in 1960 and Dalton is looking to follow in his footsteps.

Dalton graduated from Chesapeake High School in 2020, where he was a varsity track and baseball athlete. He graduated from Saint Vincent College in 2024 with an undergraduate degree in Business Administration and in 2025 with his Master’s in Business Management: Operational Excellence. Dalton was a Varsity Baseball starter for Saint Vincent College and received the academic excellence award for both undergraduate and graduate degrees (highest GPA in the major).

Dalton Nicklow started at Huff Insurance working with the marketing team before shifting to an office hand role. Dalton has since gotten both his property and casualty license, and his life and health license. Now Dalton is working full-time as a commercial lines agent in Huff Insurances home office in Pasadena, MD.

Outside of the office, Dalton enjoys going to the gym, watching and coaching baseball, and spending time with his dog, Sport. Dalton is excited to be able to help you with your insurance needs!

Ann Battenfeld has over 10 years of experience in personal lines insurance and is dedicated to building strong relationships with her clients. She takes the time to understand each client’s unique situation, allowing her to tailor coverage solutions that meet their specific needs.

Based in Pasadena, Maryland, Ann is committed to providing personalized service and helping families stay protected from unexpected losses. Her focus is on making the insurance process clear and ensuring her clients feel confident in their coverage.

Outside of the office, Ann enjoys spending time with her son and volunteering in the community.

Melissa J. Gover has been with the Huff Insurance since May 1, 2017, but she began her career in the insurance industry in September 1992. She is a personal lines account manager. Her job is to help people to the best of her ability with their insurance decisions and needs whether it be to purchase a new policy, make a change on an existing policy, or even just be a listening ear. It is her responsibility to inform people of what their coverages are and how important they can be and to educate them on what they mean and how they are effected by them. One of the things she loves best about her job is the feeling she gets when she knows she has helped someone make a good decision about their insurance. She loves the elation of a new business sale, and she loves the people she works with. She is thrilled to finally be a part of team that are all hard workers that love their job as much as she does and strives to do their best in everything. Melissa also loves the family atmosphere and feel that she is working with a group of friends, not just co-workers. When Melissa is not working, she enjoys baking, making cards, watching movies, going to the beach, and just spending time with her family, especially in Disney World.

Kaitlyn Smith joined Huff Insurance in February 2024 as our Director of First Impressions, quickly becoming a friendly and familiar face to our clients. Thanks to her dedication and positive attitude, she was soon promoted to Personal Lines Assistant Account Manager.

In her current role, Kaitlyn plays an important part in helping our personal lines clients with their insurance needs. She enjoys the variety each day brings and embraces every opportunity to learn and grow in her role. Her drive to challenge herself and support the team makes her a valuable member of the Huff Insurance family.

Outside the office, Kaitlyn loves spending time with her close-knit family who always encourage her to do her best. She’s also a proud pet mom to two dogs, Maci and Loki, and her cat, Marnie. When she’s not watching reality TV or true crime shows, you can find her enjoying the great outdoors—especially boating on warm, sunny days.

Hailey Manning has been a valued member of the Huff Insurance team since October 2025s, serving as our Director of First Impressions. She is often the first point of contact for our clients, offering a warm welcome and professional assistance whether they are visiting the office or calling in. Hailey also helps clients with billing questions, payments, and everyday service needs, making sure each interaction is smooth and helpful.

After earning her Property and Casualty License in January, Hailey is focused on continuing to grow within the agency. She is working toward transitioning into the Personal Lines Department, where she can expand her knowledge and take on a larger role in helping clients protect what matters most.

Outside of work, Hailey stays active in the community as an Assistant Coach for a youth softball organization. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and her two dogs, Bentley, a lovable corgi mix, and Laney, a corgi known for her big personality.
