Nancy A. Huff-Nicklow, the 2014 US Small Business Association Maryland Insurance Advocate of the Year, has been working for Huff Insurance since she was 14. Her father, Ray Huff founded the agency and Nancy started working with him during summer breaks from high school. There is not one job in the agency that Nancy has not done, from filing, to reporting claims, to working in the personal lines and the commercial lines departments. Nancy has been a lifetime resident of Pasadena, Maryland. She graduated from Chesapeake High School and then went to Salisbury University where she graduated cum laude with a major in business administration and a minor in psychology. Since graduating college Nancy has still be attending school, and has obtained her Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation, Associated Advisor of Insurance (AAI) and Construction Risk & Insurance Specialist (CRIS). Nancy was president of the Independent Insurance Association of Maryland in 2002-2003 and currently serves on the National Agency Council of Technology (ACT) committee. Nancy attends Harundale Presbyterian Church in Glen Burnie. She has a daughter, Allie and a son Dalton. Her son is very active in sports and attending soccer, football or baseball games is a regular event. Dalton has played for the Bucs, Pasadena Baseball and Lake Shore Soccer, Lake Shore Baseball, Chesapeake High Baseball and Indoor Track. Nancy enjoys relaxing on their beach and spending time with family and friends.

Jerry Nicklow has been a full time member of Huff Insurance since 2008. Jerry serves as the Marketing Director at Huff Insurance. His main duties are to manage the agency’s marketing strategies. Jerry has been in the insurance industry since 1995. Prior to joining Huff Insurance, Jerry was the Underwriting and Operations Manager for Agency Insurance Company, a regional automobile insurance company located in Maryland, from 1997-2008. Jerry graduated Arundel High School in 1989, where he was a member of the baseball team. He went on to play baseball at Anne Arundel Community College from 1991-1992, and then to Salisbury State University from 1992-1995 where he graduated Summa Cum-Laude with a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in finance. Jerry enjoys being involved with the local business associations and chambers of commerce. In 2009, Jerry established the Jerry Nicklow Student Athlete Scholarship at Anne Arundel Community College in to assist in the education expenses for student athletes who have a financial need. He serves on the board of directors of the Anne Arundel Community College Foundation and is a past president of the Pasadena Business Association. Jerry enjoys spending time with his wife, Nancy, and their two children, Allie and Dalton, who also spend time working at the agency during their off time at school.

Title: Commercial Lines Assistant
Danielle Trombetti, our Commercial Lines Assistant and Marketing Assistant, graduated Towson University in 2018 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Art + Design with a concentration in Design Studies. Danielle worked for two summers at Booz Allen Hamilton as their Graphic Design/Digital Team intern giving Danielle the experience of creating marketing content for internal/external use and branding knowledge. Her time at Chick Fil a taught her great communication and personal skills to carry throughout her time at Huff Insurance. Although, Danielle is new to insurance, she joined our team knowing the importance of insurance and is excited to gain useful information that will be vital for ensuring herself and her loved ones, a safe and secure lifestyle.

Title: Personal Lines Account Manager
Melissa J. Gover has been with the Huff Insurance since May 1, 2017, but she began her career in the insurance industry in September 1992. She is a personal lines account manager. Her job is to help people to the best of her ability with their insurance decisions and needs whether it be to purchase a new policy, make a change on an existing policy, or even just be a listening ear. It is her responsibility to inform people of what their coverages are and how important they can be and to educate them on what they mean and how they are effected by them. One of the things she loves best about her job is the feeling she gets when she knows she has helped someone make a good decision about their insurance. She loves the elation of a new business sale, and she loves the people she works with. She is thrilled to finally be a part of team that are all hard workers that love their job as much as she does and strives to do their best in everything. Melissa also loves the family atmosphere and feel that she is working with a group of friends, not just co-workers. When Melissa is not working, she enjoys baking, making cards, watching movies, going to the beach, and just spending time with her family.

Deidre Hawkins came to the insurance industry after 15 plus years in workforce development. An opportunity to change careers led her to pursue insurance as a field of interest, and she joined Huff Insurance in January 2018. Deidre sees her ability to relate to people and adapt to situations in a positive way as an asset in helping people protect themselves and their families. She’s a big sports fan and also enjoys music, books, and crochet.

Title: Ambassador of First Impressions
Andrea Goodman initially worked for Huff Insurance as the Receptionist and as the late W. Ray Huff’s Administrative Assistant over 30 years ago, prior to her move to Richmond, Virginia back in 1990. Andrea Goodman returned to her hometown in Maryland, August of 2016 and has been working for Huff Insurance since August 26, 2016. While residing in Virginia, Andrea also worked for Markel Insurance Company for a few years, which is one of Huff Insurance’s carrier’s. Andrea’s current job description is Ambassador of First Impressions. What Andrea likes most about her job is that she sits front and center to greet the agency’s walk-in clients and knowing that while answering phone calls, others can both hear and feel her smile. Andrea’s favorite things to do include attending her son’s college football games, church, cooking, spending time with family & friends, and helping others. Andrea’s favorite hobbies include singing and doing organization for both homes and offices.
Hayley Schreiner was hired as an accounting assistant at Huff Insurance in May of 2017. This is Hayley’s first foray into the insurance industry, but she feels that this is her place. Working at Huff Insurance has allowed Hayley to get real-world experience into how the insurance industry operates—allowing her to build a solid foundation of industry knowledge and networking opportunities. Hayley enjoys the intimacy working at a small firm provides. She enjoys working with her amazing coworkers and growing as a team, and especially appreciates philanthropic efforts the firm gives to the local community. Hayley loves the outdoors—she enjoys hiking , fishing, camping, and is a yoga enthusiast.
