Number one Killer of Teen Drivers

This is serious.

Texting and driving is out of control – believe it or not, it’s now the number one killer of American teens. And it’s only likely to get worse.

What can we do as parents, friends, and advisers?

I beg you to go to https://www.stoptextsstopwrecks.org/#home today and share this with the ones you love.

To stop this dangerous behavior, the Ad Council collaborated with the office of the State Attorneys General and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to create a Texting and Driving Prevention campaign.

I’m sure you’ll find the site engaging and valuable.

In the meantime here are a few suggestions to reduce this risky behavior while driving:

1. Put the phone out of reach. No phone means no texting.

2. Make one passenger the “designated texter”.

3. Turn off the phone’s sound notifications – reduce reflexive need to check incoming messages.

4. Buy one of several mobile apps that cuts off texting while the car is moving.

All of us here at Huff Insurance appreciate your efforts to stem this dangerous epidemic of texting while driving.
